Facilities Services
Remote, with one day a week in the office

Competitive Salary+ Flexible Benefits
Summary
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join our Procurement team supporting Facilities Services, the maintenance and engineering side of NG Bailey. You’ll be buying for our hard services business, sourcing the materials, subcontract packages and supply chain partners that keep our projects running smoothly, and securing them at the best overall cost.
Variety is the name of the game here. You’ll work across general M&E buying, project buying and materials buying, partnering closely with project teams and Senior Buyers to develop your knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, services and products. The role is remote-based with one day a week in our office, plus the occasional visit to supplier offices.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- Complying with the company’s Health and Safety standards, ensuring that the safety first and foremost message is visible and alive throughout everything you do.
- Leading procurement activities on your assigned projects, making sure key delivery dates and buying targets are met.
- Buying materials and subcontract packages across hard services and M&E, delivering contract requirements at the lowest overall cost.
- Working with Senior Buyers and the Procurement Manager to develop effective procurement strategies, and keeping accurate procurement schedules in place.
- Building strong supplier relationships and running performance reviews with project teams, driving improvement plans where needed.
- Supporting our work winning teams on tenders with procurement advice and activity.
- Developing a working knowledge of MEP systems, services and products to inform effective buying decisions.
- Producing monthly procurement reporting and contributing to project and post-contract reviews so lessons learned are shared across the division.
What we’re looking for:
If the above sounds exciting and something you’re well versed in, then we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for a commercially minded buyer who builds strong relationships and can influence stakeholders at every level. You’ll be tenacious, spotting challenges before they become problems and taking action to resolve them, and a real team player who takes pride in consistently delivering. Some of the experience we’re looking for includes:
A confident, results-driven buyer, with experience in:
- Operational buying of materials and subcontract packages, ideally within M&E, hard services or building services
- Buying for projects, with a good understanding of how to deliver to programme and budget
- Negotiating effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best overall cost
- Producing accurate procurement reports and data using company systems
- Knowledge of SFG20 maintenance standards would be desirable
- A willingness to spend one day a week in our Leeds office and to visit supplier offices, including in London, when required
Benefits:
We're always evolving our benefits to ensure we're attracting and retaining great people. Some of what you can expect includes:
- 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays with an option to Buy/Sell additional days
- Pension with a leading provider and employer contribution
- Personal Wellbeing and Volunteer Days
- Private Medical Insurance
- Life Assurance
- Salary sacrifice car scheme (Hybrid/Electric Vehicle)
- Free 24/7 365 Employee Assistance Program to support mental health and well-being (including counselling sessions and legal advice)
- Flexible benefits to choose from inc: Dental Insurance, Gym Membership, Give As You Earn, Travel Insurance, Tax Free Bikes.
