JOB TITLE: Senior Buyer

LOCATION: Leeds (flexibility to be based from Manchester), with travel between sites

Summary

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join our Technical Facilities Services team at NG Bailey, based in Leeds or Manchester. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you'll lead procurement activity across a defined area of the business, with scope to shape whether your focus sits with regional/client accounts or specific categories.

This is a role with real influence: you'll support and develop 1-2 direct reports, and have the opportunity to play a lead part in systems and procurement transformation, including CAFM systems and the digitisation of our procurement processes. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys building strong relationships and wants to make a visible impact on how the function runs and performs.

 

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

• Leading procurement activity across your area of responsibility - from strategy and negotiation through to order placement - to deliver the best overall value.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders and clients, including supplier performance reviews and ensuring the supply chain adheres to agreed SLAs.
• Playing a lead role in procurement and systems transformation activity, including digitisation projects and the use of CAFM, P2P and SRM systems.
• Supporting the development of 1-2 direct reports, encouraging collaborative and supportive ways of working.
• Contributing to margin improvement and cost-effective outcomes across your category or client area.
• Producing procurement plans, savings trackers and reporting to keep senior stakeholders informed.

 

What we're looking for:

An engaged and relationship-driven procurement professional, with experience in:

• A Facilities Management or M&E environment is preferable, though we'd also welcome backgrounds from manufacturing or other transferable industries.
• Buying, category management or supplier/stakeholder relationship management within a technical remit.
• Understanding or hands-on use of CAFM, P2P or SRM systems.
• Building effective relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and clients alike - client-side experience is welcome too.
• CIPS qualified, or working towards Level 4/5 - we're happy to support your studies if you're not already qualified.
• It would be a bonus if you've been part of a systems or procurement transformation project, including digitisation.
