Summary

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Offsite Standardisation Manager, with electrical/mechanical bias, to join our team based ideally in Leeds, although we would be open to other locations. 

 

In this role you will lead the development, implementation and adoption of standardised offsite (OSM) products across the business.

The role will work across central technical, offsite manufacturing (OSM), design, estimating and project delivery teams within the Built Environment and Freedom to ensure that standardised solutions are developed collaboratively, embedded within designs, incorporated into tender strategies, and consistently delivered on site. 

This is a permanent staff position with NG Bailey.

 

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Demonstrate appropriate health and safety leadership to ensure the safety first and foremost message is visible and alive throughout all activities
  • Lead the identification, development and continuous improvement of standardised offsite products in collaboration with OSM and the project teams
  • Ensure products are aligned with business strategy, repeatability targets and sector needs. Establish a structured product roadmap and governance for approval and evolution
  • Liaise with internal and external designers to ensure standardised products are incorporated into designs where appropriate
  • Challenge traditional design approaches and promote design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) principles
  • Work with the BIM team to ensure all standardised products are modelled, coordinated and maintained within the Revit library. Ensure consistency of information, naming conventions and data structures to support efficient design and delivery
  • Work with the pre-construction and estimating teams to ensure standardised products are incorporated into tender solutions, cost models and programmes.
  • Support project teams to ensure standardised products are adopted during deliver of projects, addressing any barriers to implementation, and ensuring alignment between design intent and site execution
  • Capture learning from products and feedback to product development. Identify opportunities to expand the product suite and improve adoption rates
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies in offsite manufacturing and DFMA. Identify opportunities to enhance the business offering and maintain competitive advantage
  • Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with all stakeholders to support the development and adoption of standardised products. Engage key stakeholders early and throughout to ensure alignment. Encourage contribution from the project teams and drive business buy in through strong communication and influencing skills
  • Act as the central point for offsite standardisation, facilitating communication, resolving challenges and ensuring consistent application of agreed solutions

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Extensive experience of mechanical/electrical building services projects,
  • Experience in offsite manufacturing, DFMA or standardisation within construction/MEP 
  • Strong communication, proven ability to drive change and influence stakeholders
  • Experience of BIM processes and digital engineering (Revit libraries, data structures)
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, costing and programme impacts
  • Experience in developing repeatable products or standard solutions

Qualifications or professional memberships (desirable)

  • I.Eng, MCIBSE, MIET, B.Eng (Hons) or equivalent
