Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Technician to join a brand new team at NG Bailey, dedicated to supporting a flagship building at the University of Bristol. This is a rare chance to be part of something from the very beginning – we're mobilising a brand new site and building the team from the ground up, so you'll play a real role in shaping how we deliver our service.
Working a days-only shift pattern with 1 in 3 weekend working, you'll be responsible for delivering planned and reactive electrical building services maintenance across this high-profile site. Whether your background is in commercial maintenance, facilities management or electrical building services, if you bring strong technical knowledge and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical building services systems and equipment in line with SFG20 and agreed maintenance programmes.
- Responding to reactive electrical faults and completing repairs and minor installation works, ensuring all tasks are delivered within contractual SLAs and KPIs.
- Maintaining and fault-finding on electrical distribution systems, lighting, emergency lighting, small power, control systems and associated electrical plant.
- Accurately recording maintenance activities, compliance documentation and job updates using the client's CAFM system.
- Building positive working relationships with the University team, colleagues and service partners while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Working safely at all times, following risk assessments, method statements and NG Bailey Health & Safety procedures.
- Supporting subcontractors where required and contributing to the smooth delivery of building maintenance across the wider team.
- Participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota when required.
What we're looking for
We're looking for a proactive, customer-focused Electrical Technician who enjoys solving problems and takes pride in delivering a first-class maintenance service. You'll be comfortable working independently as well as being part of a collaborative team in a brand-new environment.
Some of the experience we're looking for includes:
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance within commercial buildings or building services environments.
- Experience fault-finding, repairing and maintaining electrical systems including lighting, power distribution and associated building services equipment.
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent), recognised apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
- Current BS7671 Wiring Regulations qualification (18th Edition preferred).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a professional, client-facing approach.
- Ability to work safely and effectively whilst maintaining high standards of compliance and documentation.
Benefits:
We're always evolving our benefits to ensure we're attracting and retaining great people. Some of what you can expect includes:
