Summary

 

The Quality Assurance Engineer will conduct all aspects of quality assurance and project compliance within designated major/strategic projects. Ensuring that products and services meet the required regulatory, legislative and specification standards before they reach the customer and providing quality assurance support and guidance to the project quality team in all aspects of project management processes.

 

This is a permanent role with NG Bailey, and due to the nature of work on site the successful candidate will be required to obtain security clearance, therefore we are only able to accept applications from British nationals who have not worked outside the UK in the last 5 years.

 

Responsibilities

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Ensure that the safety first and foremost message is visible and alive throughout all activities relating to the delivery of your works.
  • Satisfy contractual and company obligations in the areas of assurance, process compliance, quality control, defect management and document control.
  • Ensure that company/project/customer requirements are well understood throughout the project team and assure that the inspection, test and quality processes & plans accurately reflect these and that appropriate customer approvals are sought.
  • Ensure that project document management and configuration is carried out in accordance with company and project requirements and that accurate records/registers are in place for TQs, technical submittals, document transmission etc.
  • Conduct internal quality assurance on all projects performance and represent the projects at audit with internal or external stakeholders as required.
  • Prepare Quality Assurance Reports and Non-Conformance Reports in relation to all Quality Assurance activity undertaken and provide timely feedback on all reviews conducted.
  • Produce and issue corrective and preventive action plans to address known and emerging issues, ensuring timely follow up and close down of required actions.
  • Be a key member of the project team, demonstrating expertise and knowledge in the carrying out of your duties.
  • Ensure that project team members hold requisite qualifications, and that appropriate competence can be demonstrated.  Work with divisional/group resource to maintain records where required.
  • Ensure that product utilisation on the project is understood and that appropriate manufacturers approved training is undertaken and evidenced where required.
  • Contribute to the identification of project risks, ensuring that risks are captured and mitigated through Quality Assurance.
  • Work with quality control, central engineering, design, procurement and operations to ensure lessons learnt are captured and shared across the business and supply chain.
  • Provide accurate and timely management information for inclusion in performance related templates to include items such as:

Outcomes of quality assurance activity

Non-conformances – external and internal

Outstanding action plans and their current status

Trend analysis

Preventative actions recommended

 

  • Deploy a high level of engagement and communication, setting clear expectations, cascading project and company messages, offering guidance and feedback to maximise the performance of the team and ensure that objectives are met.
  • Maintain regular dialogue and positive relationships with the project customer and other external stakeholders, through the efficient delivery of project objectives, meaningful engagement and a proactive attitude.
  • Conduct periodic supply chain audits to satisfy contract and legislative requirements, reporting findings and preparing actions plans for improvement/compliance.
  • Work with project leadership team to ensure that NG Bailey preferred suppliers are engaged and that approved products and materials are used.
  • Establish and maintain key relationships with all members of the SLT and ensure appropriate networks are established throughout the division with other quality and business performance personnel.
  • Maintain regular dialogue and positive relationships with the project customer and other external stakeholders, through the efficient delivery of project objectives, meaningful engagement, and a proactive attitude. Solicit feedback from customer to ensure quality objectives are met, acting on feedback as required.
  • Ensure that the NG Bailey “Right First Time” message is clearly articulated, being an ambassador for the company, representing them professionally at all times.
  • Ensure that all requisite test, inspection and other evidential records are produced, authorised and stored in accordance with legislative, company and project requirements.

 

You will have:

 

  • Excellent knowledge of ISO9001 & best practice.
  • Working experience of internal audit and assurance and external Supply chain audit. 
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, verbally and in written format.
